About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Fresno California. I earned my degree in 2020 at Fresno Pacific University.

I decided to enter this career after I worked for nearly 15 years in higher education, primarily in enrollment but I also did some teaching at the undergraduate level. I worked full-time and went to school to obtain my MFT degree so I know what it’s like to have a full plate when trying to manage life and relationships. I was drawn to this field because of my own experiences of having a safe, nonjudgmental space to process life. I went through some very difficult things and having my own therapist really helped me have more insight, more compassion for myself (and others), and a clearer sense of how I wanted to move forward. I have now been a therapist for 7 years and consider it a great honor to walk with others in their own challenges.

I specialize in working with helping professionals and first responders— healthcare providers, educators, caregivers, police and fire fighters. Many of my clients are competent, highly trained, responsible, and deeply caring people who are used to being “the strong one,” often at the expense of their own needs. Over time, the emotional labor of helping can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, low-grade depression, burnout, or feeling distant from the people you love. As an Emotionally Focused Therapist, I offer therapy for individuals as well as couples where one or both partners are in these professions. The emotional labor of helping can lead to disconnection, where work gets the best of you while your relationship gets what’s left

To deepen my work with clients, I have completed specialized training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach rooted in attachment theory and humanistic psychology. This training includes advanced coursework and supervised clinical practice in EFT for individuals, couples and families. This extensive training allows me to skillfully guide individuals through emotional processing and healing, help couples rebuild trust and connection, and support families in navigating conflict and strengthening emotional bonds. I continue to engage in ongoing trainings in other areas, peer consultation, and professional development to ensure I bring the most current and effective tools to my work with clients.
